Québec Constitutional Act, 2025: Why Should it be Abandoned?

On February 3rd, the uOttawa Public Law Centre and the Faculty’s Civil Law Section will host a presentation on the impact of Quebec’s proposed Constitutional Act, 2025 on democracy, human rights and constitutionalism in the province.

Lise Brun, a postdoctoral fellow at Université Laval, and doctoral student Marie-Hélène Lyonnais of University College London will present a critique of the proposed Act and explain why a new constitutional process should be instituted following the upcoming elections in October 2026.
